Beginner Gun Reviews

I’m not going to lie: doing reviews is one of my favorite parts about running this blog. The thing is, I remember reading reviews when I was starting out and walking away thinking “well that didn’t answer any of the questions I had about the gun!” I mean, yes, it’s nice that you can get those groupings at whatever number of yards using that whole different range of ammo brands. Call me a noob, but that kind of information didn’t (and somewhat still doesn’t) concern me much. All I want to know is if it’s a good gun and that I won’t be flushing hundreds of dollars down the toilet.

That’s why, when I started this site, I wanted to write reviews in a different way altogether. The reviews on this site aren’t from the perspective of “is this a great gun for ____” but more along the lines of “Is this a good first gun for a person?” If a person who has never shot before goes out and buys this gun, are they going to regret it? So we ask questions like “Is it easy to clean?” or “Is it forgiving for those who haven’t quite got their technique down yet?” and so on. Side note: I get some really odd looks at the range when I’m running through the “poor technique” tests, by the way. Someday I’ll make a video showing what I do. You’ll laugh.

So take a look around. Send us requests and, if we can get our hands on one, we’ll try to review it.
